Sam Boyer on the Drupal.org migration from CVS to Git

Sam Boyer (aka sdboyer) talks about the Drupal.org transition from CVS to Git. Sam talks about the different phases of the migration, and how using a distributed version control system like Git will change and improve the collaborative workflow of Drupal development for both core and contrib. There is also an experimental git mirror of all the Drupal modules that Sam helped set up.

Sam participated on the DrupalCon San Francisco panel called The exodus: leading Drupal out of CVS that talked more about this transition.

The Drupal Association also just announced that they're offering up five contracts related to the Drupal.org redesign including one for the Git migration lead.
